Growing Up with
DSCBA
Will Drucker and his family have
been members of the DSCBA
for many years. Recently, Will’s
English teacher asked the class
to write an essay about a local
nonprofit organization. Will chose
the DSCBA! We are honored that
Will is part of our family and proud
of all that he has accomplished.

Will’s Essay
“ The charity that I picked is the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay
Area because I was born with Down syndrome. At the Connection children
get to go to the Down Syndrome walk, join classes like THRIVE, Music
Therapy and Communication Readiness. The Connection is a special place
to me and it’s located right here in Danville.
The Down Syndrome Connection was started in 1998. They are a non-profit
organization helping families who have a child with Down syndrome.
How can people support the Down Syndrome Connection? That’s easy,
you can help organize events like the Down Syndrome Walk and the yearly
Gala. You can also volunteer your professional talents like your role as a
teacher, doctor, student, sports coach, speech therapist or even just parent
support. A really important way to support the Connection is by giving
money. Last but not least, spreading awareness about the Connection is
one of the most important ways people can help the DSCBA.
The Connection makes the world a better place by helping people with
Down syndrome to feel included. It teaches people about Down syndrome.
Last but not least, it provides a community for families with a child who has
Down syndrome to get support.
